Description
This 5 HP single-phase electric motor is specifically built to power heavy-duty air compressors and other equipment that demand high start-up torque and continuous operation. Operating at 3450 RPM, this 230V compressor-duty motor provides a reliable power source for commercial and industrial-grade applications.
Built with a 56HZ frame, it features a 7/8″ diameter shaft, a 2.24″ shaft length, and a standard 3/16″ keyway—ideal for most standard pulley systems. It is also compatible with 56Y and W182/4Y frame mounting patterns which are common and compatible with the 5 HP Ingersoll Rand air compressors.
This non-reversible motor spins counter-clockwise when viewed from the shaft end, making it ideal for fixed-rotation air compressor systems. The Open Drip Proof (ODP) enclosure allows for better airflow while keeping the motor compact and cool during long duty cycles. Plus, the built-in manual reset thermal overload protection offers added peace of mind for demanding environments.
