This is an alternative microphone for Furuno’s FM8800S 25-watt DSC-VHF/FM wireless phone. The wireless phone complies with the GMDSS standard, can automatically perform the ship’s radio distress alert function, and eliminates the requirement of manual watch on the distress channel. The radiotelephone also has a DSC function, which allows enhanced distress radio messages to be sent digitally.
